World Food Safety Day 2026 will be observed on 7 June 2026 across the world. The theme this year is "From burden to solutions - safe food everywhere," focusing on understanding the global health burden caused by unsafe food and applying science-based solutions to prevent illness.
Greetins everyone, my name is Sofonie Dala!
Welcome to our sustainable eating program!
World Food Safety Day highlights the
importance of ensuring that the food we eat is safe, nutritious, and free from
contamination. Safe food is essential for good health, food security, and
sustainable development.
Every year, millions of people
suffer from foodborne illnesses caused by contaminated food and water, with
children among the most affected. Food safety depends on responsible practices
throughout the entire food chain, from production and storage to preparation
and consumption.
This day encourages governments,
businesses, and communities to work together to prevent foodborne diseases and
protect public health.
World Food Safety Day supports SDG
2: Zero Hunger, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 6: Clean
Water and Sanitation, and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.
Safe food is everyone's
responsibility and a key ingredient for a healthier future.
